A self-taught artist that was born in Amynteo, Greece in 1945, George immigrated to the U.S. with his family in 1956 and settled in southern California where he currently resides with his wife, Sherie.

From an early age, he harbored an interest in fine art. He pursued a formal education in Electronic Engineering and Mathematics, followed by service in the military and later during his tenure as a Chemistry and Mathematics teacher, he began to develop his skills as an oil painter. In 1972 he completed his first landscape of a wooded autumn scene set on the campus of Notre Dame University.

The demands of a 36-year career in the Biotechnology/Medical research instrumentation industry and raising a family curtailed his time spent painting. Following retirement, his family’s encouragement rekindled his interest in painting and he produced a series of WWII aviation and marine acrylics followed by a number of oil and acrylic seascapes, landscapes, architectural motifs and various other genres.

He has studied the masters, several current artists, and has been greatly influenced by the 19th century Russian school of seascape artists including Konstantin Aivazovsky and by the American Tonalist George Inness.
