Ju-52 Airborne Invasion of Crete
The final airborne invasion of Crete undertaken by the Luftwaffe on May 20, 1941 proved to be the most costly with more than one third of the 500 Ju 52’s operating in Greece were destroyed or badly damaged. The Polish build Greek PZL-24 fighter depicted in the background was quite effective against the Ju 52’s.
